F1 | Alfa Romeo, Raikkonen: “In Mexico there is never grip on Fridays”

The first two free practice sessions were absolutely positive for Kimi Raikkonen, who found himself in eleventh position at the end of the day. A good pace was shown by the Finn of Alfa Romeo Racing, although seeing the two McLarens behind him, it is easy to believe that this afternoon it will be very difficult to replicate this performance, also considering the great difficulties experienced by the Swiss team this year.

“A normal Friday – Kimi said. Like every time we arrive in Mexico, there is never any grip on the first day! The track is very slippery and the very little downforce doesn't help you at all, but it's like that for everyone and we expect things to improve slightly on Saturday. I think we're in a good place with the car set-up, there's nothing too urgent to change, but as always we'll need to find a bit more speed from the car over the course of the night."
