F1 | Alfa Romeo Racing, Giovinazzi calm: “I'm used to the pressure”

Antonio Giovinazzi is ready to play his cards with a view to 2020. Despite the market rumors regarding a possible arrival of Nico Hulkenberg in Alfa Romeo Racing, in fact, the Italian is optimistic regarding the renewal with the Italian-Swiss team , underlining how Hinwill's confirmation depends exclusively on his performance on the track.

In fact, if Antonio manages to repeat the performances shown in the last month and a half, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari will undoubtedly guarantee him a seat for 2020. On the contrary, however, the team led by Fred Vasseur would end up evaluating of alternatives, with Giovinazzi's future in Formula 1 being at great risk.

“Personally I always feel the pressure,” said Antonio Giovinazzi. “In karting, more often than not, I didn't have the money to carry on and this generated a lot of pressure on my shoulders. Same situation in Formula 2 or Formula 3, with the feeling that they could replace me with every mistake. In Formula 1 it could be even more real as a situation, but it's part of the game."

On the possible confirmation in Alfa Romeo Racing for 2020 he added: “All I know is that I have to continue to do well. I want to achieve results like the one in Monza. From Paul Ricard to today I have had a good pace and in qualifying I was close to Kimi. I need to improve my pace and I'm working precisely on this area."

“If I get good results for the rest of the season, no one will be able to take my place. That's my only goal." he concluded.
