F1 | Alfa Romeo, Giovinazzi on the eighth row in Mexico: “Difficult qualifying”

As with Kimi Raikkonen, Giovinazzi also didn't have an easy life in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix. The Apulian finished fifteenth, right behind his teammate, confirming an evident difficulty on the part of Alfa Romeo Racing in this final part of the season. The only positive note: being able to choose the best compound to start and try to make up ground throughout the race with an alternative strategy to those who will start with the Softs in the last positions of the top ten.

“It was difficult qualifying – Giovinazzi admitted. I made a mistake in the third sector and that cost me a few tenths, but I don't think it would have changed much. Tomorrow won't be an easy race, but we have to seize the opportunities we have. The degradation will be high, especially for those who start on the Soft, so the choice of our compound on the grid is the only positive aspect of this day. Finding the right strategy and managing the tires will be important if we want to recover some positions."
