F1 | Alfa Romeo, Bottas: “A small improvement was enough to return to Q3”

Valtteri Bottas manages to take Alfa Romeo up to Q3, but the Finn stops in tenth place. His C42 always remained in the top ten during the qualifying session, confirming the effectiveness of the updates made to the car on Saturday in Austin. Bottas had been missing from Q3 since the weekend in Hungary, but thanks to penalties from Leclerc, Perez and Alonso the Finn moved up to seventh place.

"Being in the top ten was the goal today, and we achieved it. We knew that the updates brought this weekend would give us an extra boost and a small improvement in performance was enough to get us back into Q3. Starting in the top ten (I think I will be seventh once all the penalties have been applied) is really positive and will help us with our goal in the race, to score points. We need points for our fight in the constructors' championship, we want sixth position, it's important for us. We are improving, but now let's focus on our race, do things properly and bring home some points".
