F1 | Alfa Romeo, good race by Raikkonen: "Unfortunately it was of no use"

Kimi Raikkonen would have deserved at least a top ten position, as he finished eleventh at the finish line in Portimao after a great race. Iceman recovered in the first laps to sixth position, taking advantage of the difficulties of others, and then fought like a lion to bring home at least the point of tenth place. Unfortunately, Alfa Romeo Racing doesn't allow him to do more at the moment, but hats off to a driver who, despite being 41 years old, is still able to provide top-level performances.

“Excellent start – Kimi admitted. I put myself in a good position and managed to overtake a lot of cars, but in the end it doesn't matter as we didn't get anything out of it. Everything possible was done, but unfortunately I couldn't do anything to keep Vettel behind at the end. The race pace wasn't bad, but when he starts so far back it's not easy to recover positions. The car was going well, but at the moment we still lack a bit of performance to get into the points. We hope to make further progress in view of Imola."
