F1 | Albers: “Adrian Newey is the past”

Christijan Albers, former Formula 1 driver, certainly didn't send them a message when he attacked the work of Adrian Newey in the Dutch media, which according to him is now outdated. He would have used much more weighty words to tell the truth, but we limited ourselves to what you will read later as we were not 100% certain of what was written in Dutch. According to the former Minardi driver, the future is represented by James Key, current technical director of McLaren, and that he should be the one to take Newey's place at Red Bull, possible offer from Ferrari permitting. Otherwise, his growth could continue at McLaren.

“Adrian Newey has gone out of fashion – Albers told the Dutch of Formula 1. At Red Bull they have to build the future, I see James Key as the new Newey. If he doesn't receive a significantly better offer from a top team, like Ferrari for example, I think he will stay at McLaren. I'm very curious to see what he could do with more budget and staff at his disposal. He's not a rock hard person, he's not that guy. I think he is a brilliant talent, he can certainly grow into his role as technical director."
