"We want to give him a good car"
The Spanish driver is not yet ruled out to keep his place at Renault, despite the latest rumors according to which he could move from Force India, Esteban Ocon.
What is certain is the renewal of Nico Hulkenberg with the Renault:
“I am very happy with my decision to stay, of course it will still take some time -said the German a Car Hebdo- I doubt that the changes to the 2019 regulations will change the hierarchy but we can't miss the great reset of 2021.".
What is not yet certain is the name of his teammate: Carlos Sainz Jr in fact it is on loan from Red Bull and the performance so far hasn't been amazing. Hence the rumors of a possible hiring of Esteban Ocon.
However, the boss Cyril Abiteboul, admitted that he would still like to keep the Spaniard in the team:
“We want to give Carlos a good car and we want him to stay at Renault. We have no reason to be worried.".
