F1 | Abiteboul: “Alpine can fight for victory”
Renault leaves room for Alpine F1 Team
Cyril Abiteboul, team principal of the Renault team who from next year will change name to Alpine F1 Team, said he was enthusiastic about the news and the team's determination to regain the victorious results they have achieved in the past.
“This change comes at a key time for the team and the sport. Alpine brings new meaning, new values and colors to the paddock with otherworldly spirit of competition and French creative agility. These will be the resources for the 2022 preparation. The new regulatory and financial framework will create the conditions for a more equitable motor sport in its redistribution of revenues; simpler and more progressive in its governance. The implementation of the "budget cap" will put an end to the spending race and will allow the sporting value of the signatory teams to be measured. Alpine has its place in Formula 1 and can fight for victory."
