F1 | The 2020 calendar has been made official
There will be 22 appointments. The start will be on March 15th in Australia, the last race will be on November 29th in Abu Dhabi. Seven back to backs
The FIA World Council, meeting today in Cologne, approved the calendar for the 2020 Formula One World Championship.
Next season will have 22 events, a record for the premier class of motorsport. The championship will start on March 15th at Albert Park in Melbourne (Australian GP) and will end on November 29th in Abu Dhabi on the Yas Marina track. The German GP is off the calendar.
I am still waiting to receive the approval new entry Zandvoort and Hanoi, with the Dutch and Vietnam GPs taking place on 5 April and 3 May respectively. The last race before the summer break will be the Hungaroring (2 August). The Italian GP will be held on September 6th.
There will be seven i Back to back: Australia-Bahrain (15-22 March), Netherlands-Spain (3-10 May), Azerbaijan-Canada (7-14 June), France-Austria (28 June-5 July), Belgium-Italy (30 August-6 September), Singapore-Russia (September 20-27) and United States-Mexico (October 25-November 1).
In addition to the calendar, a series of changes to the 2020 sporting regulations were discussed and will be proposed to the Council by electronic vote.
Furthermore, a detailed update of the project was presented regarding the sporting, technical and financial regulations for 2021 which will be approved by October 31st.
