Former F1 player, Robert Kubica could race in Formula E

A return to single-seaters that would be very welcome and exciting, something that until some time seemed totally impossible, considering the strength difficulties with his right hand due to the terrible accident five years ago.

And instead Robert Kubica could settle in Formula E, the “electric F1” which is enjoying growing success among the public and professionals. The last E-Prix, held in Buenos Aires on 6 February, saw Mercedes test driver Sam Bird win over a driver from the Red Bull school, Sebastien Buemi who with Renault is the favorite to win the championship.

There are many drivers with a background in F1 who are trying their hand at mixed success in a category that is at least interesting and fun, although singular in terms of technology and still not entirely "accepted" by the most sanguine base of motorsport enthusiasts.

Nelson Piquet jr was the first champion of the category, in 2015. The other F1 drivers (with at least one GP behind him) still involved are: Lucas Di Grassi, Jean Eric Vergne, the aforementioned Sebastien Buemi, Jerome D'Ambrosio, Nick Heidfeld, Stephane Sarrazin and Bruno Senna.

People who have had more or less luck in the top category - think of Heidfeld, a driver of a reasonable level for many years with eight second places under his belt - and who are trying to establish themselves in the new Formula. Kubica would be the big name that could convince even more fans to follow the races in the series created by the Spaniard Alejandro Agag.

Meanwhile, Robert confirmed his absence from the upcoming WRC event of the Swedish Rally via his Facebook profile. A first step towards a return to single-seaters?
