Ericsson is no longer a Caterham driver
Finances permitting the team will have to find a replacement for Abu Dhabi
Even if the Caterham managed to obtain the approximately £2,5 million from the public fundraising organized to be able to participate in the season finale in Abu Dhabi Marcus Ericsson he won't be in the game.
The Swede, who recently signed with Sauber for 2015, made this known with a statement on his official website.
“In light of the recent events involving the company and 1 MRT Sdn Bhd, it is sad to announce that together with my consultant Eje Elgh we have decided to terminate all existing agreements with the team with immediate effect – we read – I thank the people who had faith in me and made my first year in F1 a useful and unforgettable experience, also a thought goes to my teammate Kamui Kobayashi who proved to be a fundamental point of reference and who I hope to be able to find again soon on the track."
