“El Matador” has no doubts: “Carlos has an exceptional talent. He will do a good job”

While waiting to take to the streets for the first stage of the 2015 Dakar, Carlos Sainz, WRC world champion and official driver of the Peugeot Sport team, spoke about the arrival of his son Carlos Junior in Toro Rosso. The Spaniard, speaking to Marca, explained that his son's arrival in Faenza was not entirely random nor due to the surname he bears. The Peugeot team standard bearer strongly believes in his son's talent and believes that he will carry on a good job within Toro Rosso.

Here are the words of Carlos Sainz: “There were occasions when the surname helped him, but, in the end, you don't get into Formula 1 because of the surname, much less get into the Red Bull Junior Team. I really believe he is ready to do a good job, he has exceptional talent, more than people think, and I hope he can prove it. For him I will be a simple spectator, as I have been for his entire career. I raced in rallies, not on the track, so I can't give him too much advice because he knows more than me! He's a great guy, you'll see…”
