Ecclestone will not be in Australia
His absence is causing a lot of discussion
Bernie Ecclestone will not be present in Melbourne for the seasonal debut of the F1 world championship, but if many consider this absence as a response to the protests by some local sceptics, including the media, who would have raised doubts about the actual benefits brought by the test 'AlbertPark, Andrew Westacott, chief executive of the event, was quick to deny, – “We're talking about a person who has to manage several races, so he just found himself unable to come. The government has established that negotiations for the renewal will begin soon, although there is no rush given that for the moment it is confirmed until 2015".
For his part, the big boss spoke on the official podcast of the Australian GP, making it clear that the Circus has an intention to continue - “Everyone loves Australia and it's always nice to go there. I know there has been some criticism towards us and I don't understand the reasons. As far as I'm concerned, I would be happy to sign for another 50 years with Melbourne."
