Ecclestone: “Fewer European GPs in 2017”

In a recent interview with Russian broadcaster RBC, Bernie Ecclestone he said he was sure of the farewell of at least one or two European GPs from the F1 calendar.

“The next Formula 1 calendar will lose one or two European events – he said – I can't say which ones but the new countries that will enter will not be European. After all, F1 is not a European Championship but a World Championship."

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the owner made a clear reference to the Italian GP in Monza, in balance due to the issues we all know, and to the German one, with Nurburgring having already given up and Hockenheim not seeming able to have adequate resources .

Also at risk, again due to a question of funds, is the Canadian GP with the calendar that could be reduced from the current 21 races to 18.
