Ecclestone blames Mosley for the difficulties encountered by the new teams

Bernie Ecclestone has changed his opinion on the new Formula 1 teams. Only last month, while arguing that Lotus could be considered the only safety, he argued that the new teams had been an embarrassment to Formula 1, and it would be happy to get rid of it.

But the Formula 1 administrator has now said it is a "good" to have fresh forces on the grid, and has blamed former FIA president Max Mosley for encouraging these teams to enter F1 despite having limited budgets.
However, it must be remembered that Ecclestone himself has done his utmost to have new teams in F1 this year, also offering them financial incentives.
“I sincerely admit that the difficulties encountered by the new teams are not their fault alone,” wrote Ecclestone, 80, in the introduction to the Official Formula 1 Season Review 2010, the analysis of the season just concluded.
“It was all Max Mosley's fault: he told them they could come in and compete for £30 million. But now they are here, and as long as they don't go around begging, it's good to have them” he writes in the book published by Haynes Publishing Group.
Following Ecclestone's comments, Russian super sports car maker Marussia bought a stake in Virgin, and HRT announced an investment from former Telefonica boss Juan Villalonga.
