A cancellation of the Singapore Grand Prix is out of the question
There is no question that the Singapore Grand Prix will be canceled due to poor visibility, according to race organisers.
In the city it is cloudy and very humid, with the weather forecast giving the possibility of rain during the race weekend.
Additionally, in nearby forests in Indonesia, recent fires have generated light fog in the sky, with air pollution indices reporting only "modest" air quality, according to the Straits Times Indonesia.
Along with the risk of racing in the rain with the track artificially lit, concerns have arisen about the race, with some speculation that the race could be cancelled.
Jenson Button he noted: “There's a rule that says if we can't see up to a certain distance, we don't run.”
The organizer of the race Lawrence Foo stated that visibility is not such a noticeable issue: “I noticed it, but out in the open, it's not that bad. We don't expect any particular problems."
