For the owner of Mercedes Dieter Zetsche, not all the slips taken by the Kaiser in these three years are attributable to him and his presumed old age, so he stated to the German newspaper Bild Am Sonntag, making a sort of mea culpa, – “We were unable to provide our drivers with a single-seater capable of fighting for the top positions. In terms of engines we had no problems, but it was the car that was missing. As for Michael, I spoke to him shortly after the announcement and it was a very positive call in which I told him that I would be very pleased to see him again in another role within our company."
