De la Rosa could leave F1 at the end of 2009

Pedro de la Rosa has told the Spanish press that he could leave the world of Formula 1 at the end of 2009 if he fails to find a starting place. The 38-year-old Spaniard, currently the oldest driver in the top formula, said that the new testing restrictions make the role of full-time test driver unattractive. His contract with McLaren Mercedes expires this year and de la Rosa admitted he had only "a small chance" of finding a starting seat for 2010 at Force India, despite the close collaboration between the two teams.
"If I can't race or even drive in tests I'll go to another category. Life isn't limited to F1" he explained in Woking. De la Rosa revealed that he will only shoot a few more test days this year.
