Bernie Ecclestone is pushing for a woman in the top category

Danica Patrick not interested in F1

Danica Patrick downplayed the hypothesis of her move to Formula 1. Rumors about the 30-year-old American's arrival in the premier category had circulated after the beautiful pole at Daytona in the Nascar Sprint Cup. Helmut Marko, advisor to Red Bull, had declared to the newspaper Bild that although Patrick is not in his "top 10 drivers" for the future in F1, he would gladly offer her a test.

According to the newspaper Kleine Zeitung, Patrick would have liked Marko's offer but refused: “I don't need to be in Formula 1 to have a full life. I've never really been interested in evaluating my options for F1. It's just media speculation, I've never dealt with it seriously."

However Susie Wolff, Williams test driver, admitted that Bernie Ecclestone is pushing hard to have a female driver in F1: "Sooner or later it will happen."
