Dakar | Sainz promotes Alonso: "My father is surprised by his times"

Interviewed by the Spanish press, Carlos Sainz spoke about Fernando Alonso's debut in the rally raid, underlining how the Spaniard is making giant strides aboard the Toyota Hilux.

In fact, despite his lack of experience in the category, the two-time world champion is quickly adapting to the style required in raids, an aspect that bodes well in view of the Dakar scheduled for next January in Saudi Arabia.

“My father says it's going very well,” said Carlos Sainz. “He told me he is very surprised by his times. As for the problems, however, they are a transition that is there. My father suffered several setbacks in his career. He is part of the game”.
