German car manufacturer Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) has announced that it now has full control of the Mercedes Formula 1 team after purchasing Aabar Investments' ownership stake.
Aabar owned a 40% stake after first taking shares in the Brawn GP team in 2009. In 2011 Aabar and Daimler became the team's sole shareholders after taking over shares from Ross Brawn and Nick Fry.
The team was renamed Mercedes for the start of the 2010 season.
Daimler today confirmed it is now the sole owner of the Brackley team after completing the purchase of the final stake for an undisclosed sum.
