Chilton contacted by Haas
The Englishman is skeptical. For him the seats will go to a young Ferrari driver and a veteran of the category
Also the name of Max Chilton would be present in the list of possible candidates for Haas in view of its debut in the Great Four-Wheel Circus in 2016.
“A few weeks ago they called me and together we discussed the possibility – confessed the English driver now involved in America in IndyLights to Sky Sports UK –
“Honestly, I would be happy to be able to return, but I have the feeling that since it is a project with a strong Ferrari influence, including the engine and wind tunnel, one of the seats will be entrusted to one of their young people, while the other will go to a veteran – he continued – It's true that I too have over thirty grands prix under my belt, however I consider true experts such as Nico Hulkenberg and Jenson Button to be favourites”.
So when asked about a future return to the former Marussia now Manor, the Englishman concluded: "I raced for the team for almost three seasons and I have many friends, so if they asked me I would accept, however, provided I have a more competitive single-seater with which demonstrate my abilities that have remained partially hidden until now".
