Chandhok: “Still work in progress in Korea”

Karun Chandhok toured the new Formula 1 track that will host the Korean Grand Prix yesterday, admitting that the facility still needs "more work". For a long time, there had been speculation that the race would be canceled due to continuous delays in construction work, but according to the Indian driver, the chances of the race taking place regularly are good.

“The garages and team buildings appear to be completed,” Chandhok said in a statement released by Red Bull.

The 26-year-old completed 14 laps behind the wheel of last year's car from the Austrian team.

“The track still needs some work on the asphalt and curbs, but the organizers think everything will be ready in time” added Chandhok, while on his Twitter he admitted that the facility needs “a lot of work” first to be ready for the event that will be held in seven weeks.

“The main stand is completed although they will have to use other temporary stands because there is no time to build permanent ones. Everyone has been quite critical of the new track but at the moment it's not bad,” concluded Chandhok to the BBC.
