Caterham, Van der Garde: “Monza suits our car”

Fairly satisfied after what was seen in the Ardennes, withdrawal of Charles Pic aside, the Caterham he looks to the Italian away match with confidence and always with the hope of defeating Marussia.

“Monza is a historic track and there is an incredible atmosphere – commented the Frenchman – It will be the last European race for this year, so it will be important to do well. At Spa, at least in free practice we showed a good pace, then we were unlucky. Before leaving for Italy I will pass through the Leafield base to try some set-ups on the simulator aimed above all at finding maximum speed on a straight line. We will also work a lot on the mechanics, which is essential to have a car that can exploit the curbs and on braking stability which allows us not to lose useful time during the lap."

“After the last two races I can say that I am going to Italy with high morale – he declared Giedo Van der Garde – As a track it should adapt to our characteristics by requiring low aerodynamic load. In 2012 we were quite competitive, so the aim is to repeat ourselves; particularly in case of treacherous climatic conditions, as we demonstrated in Belgium, we could have our say."
