Caterham optimistic after Friday's free practice
Both Kovalainen and Petrov have positive feelings
There is optimism at home Caterham at the end of free practice for the European Grand Prix on Friday. Heikki Kovalainen he finished the first session 17th and 20th the second. Positions reversed for his teammate Vitaly Petrov who placed 20th in the first free practice sessions and 17th in the second ones.
“It was a good Friday, the sessions went as planned. In the second free practice we introduced a new version of the front wing and we had good sensations", Kovalainen said.
His words are echoed by those of Petrov: “It was a positive Friday for us. In the first session we tried to obtain an equilibriumpanache that would have allowed us to improve performance when grip levels improved – explained the Russian driver -. TOWe also evaluated some new KERS maps which worked well, but perhaps they would be more suitable for a circuit with less braking and restarting. I'm sure we'll be able to resolve any doubts for the third free practice."he concluded.
