Caterham, Kobayashi: “Surprised by the retirement”
The Japanese was recalled for overheating of the brakes
Disappointing Russian GP for Caterham, who missed the recovery objective on Sauber and Marussia, last with Ericsson and out after 21 laps with Kobayashi.
“The start was good and I managed to immediately distance myself from Lotus and Sauber, but then in the second stint I had difficulties with the mediums. I had no grip and in the end we opted for another stop which took me out of the game – he stated Marcus, 19th – I'm sorry because a better result was possible. Overall it was a positive weekend."
“I am disappointed – the words of Kamui – When they called me on the radio I thought it was a normal pit stop but instead they told me I had to retire.
