She herself had declared that she was not alarmed because she was sure of dodging the truck and specifically the moving platform which she instead hit.

Perhaps this is also why the Health and Safety Executive decided a few days ago to close the case of the accident which occurred in Mary of Villota in Duxford on 3 July 2012.

New details, however, emerge from the documentation produced by the investigative body according to which the driver's engineer, considering her an expert, failed to instruct her regarding the procedures to follow to stop the single-seater.

That day, having finished the second run and been called to return to the garage, the Spanish car would have blocked when braking and attempting to reactivate the clutch and disengage the gears, or at least to shift from second to first, would not have succeeded due to the minimum engine control set to keep the rpm at 4100, ending up against the heavy vehicle without being able to do anything.

Apparently the daughter of the artist had already informed the technicians of the problem that arose when she went to turn the steering wheel completely.
