Button: “Unpredictability is not good for F1”
The McLaren driver thinks that in two races the true values of the teams will be seen
Jenson Button criticizes the fact that this season there is a great balance and a substantial equivalence of performance between the teams.
The Englishman is one of the six drivers who won a race during the first six GPs of this 2012 Formula 1 season, which beat the previous record which dated back to 1983. The McLaren driver hopes that the values will return to reward the big names for the rest of the season. “It's clear that everyone is excited to have so many different winners, initially it was great for the fans and great for the sport”, Button told Sky Sports. “But there will come a time when fans will say that anyone can win a Grand Prix and anyone can lose a GP as if they snapped their fingers. I think it's a bit strange.".
Button won in Australia and then suffered a worrying technical decline. However, the Briton thinks that after the Canadian and European GPs the values will reward the real favorites of the season. “I don't know, but I hope a different model will emerge after the next couple of races and we will understand the teams and drivers we need to beat to win the championship”, concluded the McLaren standard bearer.
