Jenson Button, despite his sixth place in FP2 in his home GP at Silverstone, is very controversial about the track: the wet conditions are such that it could be very risky to race in the race.

A strong disturbance is hitting Great Britain this weekend and F1 is paying the price: “It was very difficult to run today in the Free Practice, there were lots of puddles”, explained the McLaren standard bearer. “I wouldn't want to find myself fighting wheel to wheel in those conditions, not seeing the puddles until it's too late”. The problem that Button raises is connected to that raised by other drivers such as his teammate Lewis Hamilton or Mark Webber: the few wet tires available prevented the cars from cleaning the track and drying it at least in part, with the result that tomorrow and Sunday the drivers will find themselves driving in the middle of real rivulets.

“I think we learned during the day where the biggest streams of water on the circuit were located”, Button continued. “One of the largest is along Hangar Straight, just before Stowe Curve. There you're traveling at 290 miles an hour and you're faced with a river that makes your wheels spin at that speed, and when that happens your car can go out of control very easily. When you ride alone, it's not so bad, because you can choose your way around and lift your foot if necessary, but in the race you can't do that. So, quite obviously, I hope there won't be the same water on the track on Sunday.", concluded the Briton.
