Button: Kers will give us an advantage

Jenson Button believes McLaren will have an advantage over rivals Ferrari and Red Bull next year due to the excellent functioning of the KERS system. The Englishman explains that the system developed by Mercedes is particularly effective and was already well developed last year, its development, he reveals, would never have been interrupted by the Stuttgart technicians.

Button: “Next year we won't have the F-Duct, it's a shame because ours was a great system, but on the other hand we will have the Kers. The team already used it last year and well. I have never driven with KERS but they have great experience and for us, as well as for Mercedes GP and Force India, it will be an advantage over the competition."

According to the outgoing world champion, the technical changes planned for next year with the introduction of the mobile rear wing and the abolition of the front flap adjustment could make it very difficult to find the balance of the car: "We will go from 150 kg of fuel at the start to 5 at the finish: it will be difficult to find the right balance without the possibility of adjusting the front wing, we will see cars that are more difficult to manage".

Jenson said that the development of the 2011 car is proceeding regularly and that, as there are no major regulatory changes, he expects to find a competitive single-seater that will allow him to fight on equal terms with this year's opponents.
