Button happy that Red Bull has problems with KERS
Jenson Button believes Formula 1 has yet to see the true potential of the Red Bull RB7.
Sebastian Vettel, winner of the Australian GP and reigning world champion, won two Sundays ago with a 22-second lead over Jenson's teammate, Lewis Hamilton.
Vettel achieved this in a car without KERS, but Button believes Red Bull is struggling with this technology: “It's good for us,” he told El Pais.
“We need a powerful KERS to compete with them, because in every other area they are really competitive. At the moment we are far from Red Bull. I have the impression that Seb has yet to demonstrate the real capabilities of that machine.”
L'Express wrote that Vettel could lap everyone in Malaysia: “Aerodynamics are much more important in Sepang than in Melbourne, so the Red Bulls should be even stronger,” echoed Hamilton.
Vettel said KERS should allow him to lap 5 tenths per lap faster, while his teammate Webber said using it would be a breeze.
