Buemi and Alguersuari satisfied with the good form of Toro Rosso

Sebastien Buemi is satisfied with his performance in qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, after finishing in 11th position.

The Toro Rosso driver was also optimistic about his team's prospects for the upcoming races given that there will be more updates planned following those introduced in Spain.

Buemi said he felt optimistic about his chances for the race, after saving a set of soft tyres.

“I'm very happy with this eleventh position,” he said. “We finished ahead of Force India, Sauber and if you consider that, as expected, I will have some new parts for the next race, it is also a very good sign for Monaco.”

“On top of this, we saved a set of new soft tires for the race, because we chose not to try a second run in Q2, so everything is going well at the moment.”

“In some ways, it's better to be eleventh than tenth, because if I had done it for Q3, I would have used another set of tyres, but this way, I'm on the clean side of the track with one more set.”

Teammate Jaime Alguersuari was equally happy with his day after finishing in 13th place, but the Spaniard said he struggled with his car in the slower corners.

“The car worked well on the fast part of the circuit, but on the slow part, I didn't have a good feeling, so we need to look at the data to see how we can improve the car in Sector 3 before tomorrow's race,” he said.

“Overall, I'm happy with the team because the result for both of us is good and I think we can run a competitive race. We can expect a three pit stop strategy, due to Pirelli with the new leaders it is more difficult than it was before. I'm looking forward to having a good race at my home circuit.”
