Buemi asks Toro Rosso for a new chassis
Sebastien Buemi has asked his bosses at Toro Rosso to provide him with a new chassis ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. The Swiss driver's Ferrari-powered car suffered a scary accident in China, with the front suspension shattering during free practice on Friday, while on Sunday the driver was put out of the race by Vitantonio Liuzzi's Force India.
According to the French publication Auto Hebdo, the current chassis has not suffered any type of damage despite the accidents, but Buemi still asked for a new one for the Barcelona race.
The magazine says the move is “psychological,” with Buemi wanting to end his run of bad luck.
The driver joked with the Swiss newspaper Blick after the Grand Prix in Shanghai: “First I have to meet the Pope and then go to Lourdes. I must somehow have better luck!”
