Bruno Senna collects the Bandini Award

Bruno Senna collected the Lorenzo Bandini Trophy in the Romagna town of Brisighella, awarded to him for the talent he showed at the beginning of his racing career.

In front of a large audience, the Williams driver was honored with the trophy that honors the memory of Lorenzo Bandini, the Ferrari champion who tragically died in 1967 in Monaco: a ceramic replica of the Ferrari number 18 driven by the unfortunate talent from Faenza. The day's celebrations concluded with Ayrton Senna's nephew who participated in a gala dinner: his name joins the winners of past editions of the Bandini Trophy, including Jacques Villeneuve, Felipe Massa, Robert Kubica, David Coulthard, Alex Wurz, Juan Pablo Montoya and Fernando Alonso and last year's winner, Nico Rosberg. In fact, the Bandini Trophy wants to celebrate the pilot who demonstrates the greatest potential and who, without having had great successes, could at any moment take flight towards results. A good omen therefore for the Williams driver, who is gradually picking up points and placings in the Top 10.

“We had a very sunny day and I felt very welcomed by the people of Brisighella”, explained the Brazilian. “The event was a great success with many of my Italian fan club fans arriving from all over Italy also along the way, it was a great thing to see. I have to thank all the people involved in organizing the event. It is a great honor to be chosen to receive such a prestigious award. I've seen some of the names who have won in the past and who have gone on to achieve great success in their careers, so hopefully this is just the start of great things for me too. I am really happy to have been able to be here together with all the spectators, I thank everyone again for allowing me to take part in this special event”, concluded an emotional Senna.
