Brawn, “A medium-term program with Lewis”
The Mercedes boss puts his hands forward
Hamilton's arrival in Mercedes has definitely raised expectations for the Stuttgart company. In fact, the Englishman has been seen by more than one person as the ferryman towards a near future of success, but according to that old fox of the team principal Ross Brawn, the good intentions could be moved a little further forward.
“Lewis is a very fast driver, very passionate about this sport and what he does, as well as having all the characteristics of a world champion” – he declared to the f1.com website – “These are things known to everyone even from the inside outside, what we still have to fully acquire is the alchemy, the perfect understanding regarding working with the engineers and the development of the car, even if we are already at a good point. When he arrived we presented him with a medium-term program because we felt it was right to make him understand the situation, not that we told him that our focus was on 2014, because in reality we will give everything to get the most out of this season, but it was important who understood that our objectives are not limited to the immediate."
