Booth: “Two weeks to save Manor GP”

"To get the 40 million prize we must participate in the next world championship"

Booth: “Two weeks to save Manor GP”

Manor GP will have to resolve its financial problems in the next two weeks. John Booth, team principal of the former Marussia, explained that the English team has fifteen days to find the right financial guarantees that would allow it to appear regularly in Melbourne. A complicated situation that is still at a standstill today. Despite the 40 million FOM award and the already completed MR04 project, Manor has not yet managed to find an agreement with the investors interested in the team and this, obviously, is slowing down the preparation for next season.

Here are the words of John Booth: “We still have a little hope, but time is running out. We have two weeks left to get some results, so we have time to deal with investors. Many are doing their utmost, but as I have already said, time remains an unknown. A lot of the guys are hard workers, and hopefully we can keep everyone. Ironically, if we were unable to participate in the next World Cup, we would not be entitled to the 40 million prize. The figure, however, could attract potential investors. However, we have proven that we can manage the team in 5 years without that amount of money.”
