BMW Sauber F1: “Valencia, a new and interesting street circuit”

Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber F1
“I'm always happy when a new circuit arrives on the calendar. It is a street circuit very similar to Monaco. I like Valencia, I have visited it many times also because we do a lot of tests on the permanent circuit in Cheste. In Valencia we have often presented the new single-seater and taking the first meters with the new car is always a special experience. Earlier this year I spent many days in Valencia with my family. We had a lot of time to visit it: we went to the beach, to the parks, to the playgrounds. Everything was a lot of fun especially for the children. Valencia is an ideal place for shopping and food, I also like this mix between its historical and futuristic parts. I can't wait for this weekend.”

Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber F1
“I'm very anxious to race in Valencia also because I'm a big fan of street circuits. When you make a mistake it's easy to hit an obstacle. In any case, Valencia will not be a real street circuit. There are many escape areas for safety reasons. The FIA has made a great effort for safety and this is positive. On a street circuit it is of great importance to have a good set up. The best lap time must be built step by step and you must have a precise driving style.”
