Bernie Ecclestone: “Scorpion Racing? I think it's a little too late."
The return of the HRT team under the name of Scorpion Racing is unlikely
Bernie Ecclestone has played down the chances of the HRT team returning under the Scorpion Racing name for the 2013 championship.
Motorsport had revealed that a group of American and Canadian investors were trying to bring the HRT team back into the circus.
Ecclestone got in touch with the investor group of Sporting Racing stating that a team entry in 2013 is highly unlikely.
“Did you buy the HRT company? If you did, they might accept you (in this case the FIA, ed.). "
“I spoke to them and told them to get in touch with the FIA and ask to be able to participate,” Ecclestone explained.
“They want to buy all the shares of HRT, then form a company and apply for registration but, personally, I don't think this will happen.”
“It's a little too late, maybe it could be done next year.”
