Berger: “Webber wanted to kick out a rival for the title”

According to Gerhard Berger, Mark Webber wanted to cause the retirement of one of his title rivals immediately after his impact with the wall at the Korean GP. The Australian ended up spinning after hitting a wheel on the curb and then ended up hitting the wall. But his Red Bull then returned to the track and was hit by Nico Rosberg's Mercedes.

“I don't understand why Webber didn't brake,” said Rosberg. “It's crazy to be back on track like that.”

“He could have braked and stopped the car near the wall,” Berger said.

“He threw Rosberg out, but he was the wrong person. I think he would have preferred Alonso or Hamilton,” Berger told Servus TV.

“I think it was a deliberate maneuver, it was very obvious. He went out and knew his race was over. At that moment you are frustrated and a thousand thoughts go through your head. But it's very obvious, his wheels aren't stuck. Maybe he had a brake problem, but I don't think so."
