BBC: Mercedes engine 950 hp, Ferrari close, Honda one hundred hp less

United Kingdom state TV, through journalist Andrew Benson, has disclosed what the horsepower ratings of the Formula 1 power units should be in 2016.

The English reporter specified how Mercedes is still ahead of everyone, with an engine capable of delivering 950 hp, with the Ferrari power unit which would settle at 930 hp. Big step forward instead for Renault, which would have recovered around fifty horsepower and would be approaching the 900 threshold. An important consideration from a Red Bull perspective, with Milton Keynes which - given the goodness of the chassis - could be very competitive on slower circuits like Monaco , Singapore and Budapest.

Honda, on the other hand, would remain at the bottom of the group, with an 850 hp engine, a good hundred less than the Mercedes one, an indiscretion which according to the BBC would be confirmed by the still low top speeds of the McLaren.
