Barrichello hopes to remain with Williams in 2011

Rubens Barrichello has revealed that he hopes to remain at Williams for the 2011 Formula 1 season. The Brazilian thus commented in an interview with Reuters on the latest rumors that speak of his replacement with the paying driver Pastor Maldonado.

“I've done a good job this year and I'm focused on the car for next year, so I hope to stay,” Barrichello said, adding that he was not currently in negotiations with other teams.

To those who asked him if a contract with Williams already exists, Barrichello replied: “You should ask them. Our car is improving and I hope for a good weekend in Brazil. The start of the season was not positive, we thought we had a good car but it was very difficult for us to get into the top 10. But the relationship with the team was very good and we managed to improve. I'm already working on the car for next year. There are things about the regulation that we will address later, but the project is solid and 2011 will be better than this year."
