The calendar for the 2017 Formula 1 season has been approved
21 appointments scheduled. Azerbaijan in conflict with Le Mans
Today the FIA World Council formalized the calendar for the 2017 Formula 1 season which, like this year, will have 21 appointmentsi.
There are no particular surprises compared to the draft that was leaked a few weeks ago, but there have still been some changes: the second seasonal appointment, the Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed by a week and it will be back-to-back with the Bahrain Grand Prix. Another small change concerns the Mexican Grand Prix, also postponed by a week compared to the draft: it will be played on November 5th. Third and final modification concerns the Malaysian Grand Prix, anticipated and inserted between the Italian event in Monza and the Singapore event in Marina Bay.
Even in the next one closing the season will be the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will be played on November 26th.
It should be noted that at the moment well 3 Grands Prix remain awaiting approval: Canada, Brazil and Germany. As for the first two, the structures and garages will have to be modernized to have confirmation, as desired by Bernie Ecclestone. As for the German appointment, it remains to be seen whether the appointment will be confirmed in Hockenheim or if, as tradition, he will return to Nurburgrin, struggling with economic problems.
There is also some pleasant news: the Italian Grand Prix, as reported by the FIA, is not subject to approval and this implies that all details regarding the renewal should have been resolved.
For lovers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, unfortunately, also in 2017 they will be called upon to make a choice: the The 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, in fact, will take place on the same weekend as the famous endurance race, reliving what happened this season.
