Alonso: “We hope to improve next year”
The McLaren driver said he was confident for next season
Fernando Alonso is already looking at his future in Formula 1 and McLaren's prospects for next season.
There have been improvements in the team, but they still seem rather disappointing compared to what were the initial expectations of the Honda project: “Under normal circumstances – he revealed to Cadena Cope Radio – we don't deserve the podium yet. We hope to improve next year, this is Formula 1 and anything can happen."
The Spaniard revealed that he is not very worried about the car's performance and that he has strong motivation to continue his adventure in the circus: “The last two years have been difficult, but I'm enjoying them a lot. And if next year's cars are as fun as they have been in the past, I will have no problem continuing."
Fresh from the excellent seventh place in the Hungarian GP, Alonso has collected more than honorable results this year, a sign of the slight improvements in his car compared to the disastrous 2015.
