F1 | Alonso on Schumacher: “he has always fought”

The pilot of the McLaren wanted to express a few words of comfort for the German legend, of whom very little has been known about his current health conditions since December 2013. 

Fernando Alonso stated that the German remains one of the best drivers ever, even better than Lewis Hamilton, because he is someone who will never give up.

“Michael era un combattente, un pilota che non si è mai arreso, non ha mai smesso di credere nella vittoria. È stato difficile aprire un varco in termini di punti perché era sempre presente offrendo qualcosa di speciale. Michael non aveva bisogno della macchina perfetta, trovava sempre il risultato”.

The Spaniard also added that Schumi, as a great cycling enthusiast, has developed the tenacity and mental strength to not give up, even when obstacles presented themselves.
