Alonso: “We will try to win in Korea”

Fernando Alonso congratulated Sebastian Vettel on winning the German's second world title. The Spaniard is satisfied with the second place achieved with Ferrari at the Japanese Formula 1 GP and hopes to be able to win in Korea.

“Congratulations to Sebastian! Winning two world titles at his age, at the end of a season in which he did everything - qualifying, races and everything else - perfectly is extraordinary: he deserves this result. For our part, we can only try to do our best next year to beat him" commented Alonso.

“Today we gave our all and came close to winning the race. We know that in qualifying we are behind Red Bull and McLaren but in the race, when there are variations such as tire degradation, then we can exploit some opportunities. Here the others were going strong for the first five or six laps then we got very close again. This podium represents a great motivation for the last four races of the season. It was a fun race, where strategy was very important. Unlike the last races, today we had the pace to fight for the victory. We will also try in Korea, where we will go with our heads held high: we will try to win or, at least, get on the podium again."
