Alonso: “Monza favors us so I'm positive”

Although not at its most relaxed Fernando Alonso he appeared reasonably positive regarding the outcome of the Italian GP and during the classic press conference on Thursday he declared: “In Spa I noticed some steps forward which give us hope, furthermore the characteristics of the circuit favor us; perhaps in Singapore where downforce will count more we may encounter difficulties, but for this race I am optimistic and ready to fight. The primary objective remains to finish ahead of Vettel and our main rivals for the title."

Several questions then arrived on the market topic. When asked about the rumors circulating regarding his move to Red Bull, the Spaniard added: “They were just rumours, as was the rumor that I would take a sabbatical. I still have three and a half years left on my contract with Ferrari and I will honor it until the end. As far as I'm concerned, I want to end my career in Maranello.
