Alonso in hospital for checks after the flight on the curb
Following the overtaking on Vergne, the Ferrari driver performed a flight of over 280 km/h
Fernando Alonso he is fine, but was still subjected to checks at the end of the Abu Dhabi GP after literally flying over a curb following an attempt to overtake the driver of the Toro Rosso Jean-Eric Vergne.
According to telemetry data, the pilot Ferrari, in fact, the protagonist of a flight that exceeded 280 km/h, would have been subjected to an effort exceeding 25 G. Taking into account that the maximum limit established by FIA is 15G, Alonso was taken to hospital for the necessary medical checks.
On Monday, the Spanish driver who finished fifth in the Abu Dhabi GP will know the outcome of the tests. In the meantime, however, he reassured him about his condition. “I still have all my teeth and just a little back pain after the big blow”, he declared at the end of the match.
