Alonso: “Q3 is possible”
After the troubles on the first day at Silverstone Button shows caution
Supported by the Honda innovations, McLaren ended the first day in England with some signs of recovery and only a concern for an accelerator failure on Button's car.
“So far the updates have given good feedback, so we just need to avoid the reliability issues to get into the points on Sunday – he maintained Fernando Alonso, 10th and 6th – In the last two races I got into Q3, so I hope to repeat. The wind and rain could create difficulties."
“Unfortunately in FP2 I went out with the first ones but after one lap I was forced to come back due to a breakdown. Once that one was resolved, another one showed up, which is why I was only able to run on the soft tires at the end – he declared Jenson Button, 12th and 9th – Getting into phase 3 of qualifying will be tough. We'll see with the evolutions how my car will behave."
