Alonso: “Rivals should think about their problems”

Fernando Alonso said he is convinced that Ferrari's rivals "are trying to divert attention" from their problems by implementing psychological strategies with the media.

With just two races to go the Spaniard is leading the drivers' standings and the Red Bull boss, Christian Horner, admitted that in his opinion it would be frustrating to lose the world championship to the Ferrari driver due to the controversy linked to team orders of Hockenheim.

Stefano Domenicali immediately reacted by saying that Ferrari, with the hypercompetitive car that Red Bull found itself this year, is still fighting for the world championship "only by miracle".

“There are some teams that have not yet solved their problems and are trying to divert attention,” said Alonso in an interview with Diario Sport.

“Fortunately for us, we are a united team, we have shown this at every race, including my relationship with Felipe (Massa),” added Alonso. “There are always strategies with the media to make you nervous or put pressure on you.”

Alonso did not say he was worried about his image in Brazil: “In some countries they say that my image is not good, but when I land at airports or go to hotels or on the runway, I see the exact opposite. I'm not worried. My job is to get results on the track and satisfy the team with my work."
