The FIA on Sunday evening considered penalizing Fernando Alonso for taking a Spanish flag on the lap of honor after his victory in Barcelona.
After crossing the finish line Alonso stopped to take a Spanish flag from a commissioner.
Once in Parc Fermé, the Ferrari driver placed the flag on the number 1 which indicates the position in which the winner's car should be parked.
But according to the FIA, the Spaniard's celebrations violated the rule against "receiving an object" before the weighing and technical checks procedure and Alonso and Ferrari were summoned by the stewards.
In the end, race management decided not to impose any penalties "to be consistent with a previous decision taken in similar circumstances".
